Stars Align for Tyler Perry Studios Grand Opening

The first ever fully black-owned film studio is officially up and ready to make movie magic.

Tyler Perry and his glamorous friends gathered together to cut the figurative ribbon to his self-named groundbreaking baby. Oprah Winfrey was sure to attend the festivities as many other celebrities visited the black legend-inspired sound stage arena, that was once a Confederate army base. Beyonce and Jay-Z, Whoopi Goldberg, Ava DuVernay, Halle Berry, Samuel L. Jackson and Cicely Tyson are just a few humbled examples.

The night, however, could not carry on before Tyler paid tribute to the late-Diahann Carroll, whose "level of grace, class and inspiration was just beyond anything I could ever imagine."

β€œThe very fact that we were able to have her on the planet at the same time as we are, we should all be very, very blessed.”

Proud isn't a great enough word to express how The Steve Harvey Morning Show feels about Tyler Perry's great accomplishment. We're looking forward to the amazing art he'll be producing in the future.
