Onondaga County Officials Urge People To Sign Up For Reverse 911 Calls

DeWitt, N.Y. - Onondaga County officials are urging more people to sign up for reverse 911 calls.

The request comes following a boil water order that was issued in DeWitt late last week. While 10,000 people got a message warning them about the problem, a lot of residents didn't since they're not signed up for the alerts.

Officials began asking people to sign-up this summer after residents in Skaneateles were outraged when they weren't properly notified when a violent parolee cut off his ankle monitor in the village.
