Dennis Quaid's 'Parent Trap' Co-Star Nailed Her Joke About His Engagement

Word of Dennis Quaid's new engagement to Laura Savoie prompted the best joke from Quaid's Parent Trap co-star Elaine Hendrix.

Hendrix took to Twitter on Monday afternoon (October 21) to share her reaction to the news that Quaid, 65, is engaged to Savoie, 26, writing, "Watch out for those twins." Hendrix's tweet, which was in response to New York Post's article about the engagement, referenced Quaid's role in their 1998 classic film, where she played his much younger fiancé in the film. As you know, Lindsay Lohan portrayed the twins (Hallie and Annie Parker), who reunited to get their father to fall back in love with their mother (and his ex-wife), Elizabeth James, who was played by Natasha Richardson.

Over the weekend, Quaid proposed to his girlfriend of only a few months in Hawaii. "I had the ring in my pocket. It has been kind of a month-and-a-half plan — I wanted it to be private," Quaid said of the "sunset" proposal during an interview with Extra. "She was actually taking a selfie of us, and I put the ring in front and said, 'Will you marry me?' And then she fell down. It happened on the very northernmost point of Oahu, at Turtle Bay. It was kind of spontaneous. It was very much a surprise."
