The pregnancy speculation reached new heights on Tuesday (October 29) when it was revealed that a number of British bookies now predict the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will reveal they're expecting their second child before the year comes to an end.

According to the British betting platform bookmakers.tv, the odds that the Sussexes will announce Meghan's second pregnancy before the end of the year dropped dramatically in the past few days. The odds went from 4/6 to 1/5, which means the confidence in that particular bet is pretty high right now. "The odds of Meghan and Harry sharing some good news soon have taken another plunge," reads a statement from the site. "The latest betting definitely suggests there could be an announcement around the corner and when it comes bookies should brace themselves for another royal betting frenzy."

So, just how accurate are these predictions? When it comes to the royal family, they're usually quite accurate. British oddsmakers have often predicted announcements like this in the past. When Kate Middleton was pregnant with Princess Charlotte, professional bookies predicted the newest royal's moniker. According to Time, Charlotte was the odds-on favorite for several days before the little princess was born. After it was announced her name was Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, bookmakers had to hand over an estimated 1 million pounds ($1.5 million) to those who successfully put money on that name.

When such a dramatic shift happens, such as with Meghan and Harry's potential pregnancy, it's likely an insider has spilled some tea. “It sets off alarm bells that maybe there has been information leaked from the palace, and so the public followed the money,” Nicola McGeady, a spokesperson for the bookmaker Coral, explained.

Royal watchers have also noticed that the Duchess has been repeating some of her maternity outfits, including the purple dress pictured above, during recent engagements. During Meghan and Harry's tour of South Africa, the Duchess was photographed wearing a shirt dress she previously wore on her royal tour of Australia last Autumn while she was pregnant with Archie. She was about three months pregnant when she first wore the outfit in public. Meghan also donned a maxi dress during her trip to South Africa that she originally wore while pregnant with Archie, as well.

Meghan and Harry are about to take six week sabbatical from their royal duties, so, it's likely there won't be an announcement just yet if the bookies' predictions prove true. We'll just have to wait and see if Archie is getting a little brother or sister some time in 2020.
