Offensive remarks about Normani? Hailey Baldwin is having none of it.
The model came to the “Motivation” singer’s defense on Friday (November 1) after an Instagram user left an ignorant and racially-offensive comment on a photo of Normani channeling Cher’s iconic fairy look from 1979 for Halloween. By the grace of the screenshot gods above, the user’s trash remark has since been immortalized for the world to drag them accordingly. (Disclaimer: what you’re about to read is 100% gross.)
“I don’t think this is the right costume for a black girl, Cher is white and Cher was thin, Cher did a lot you not even close to her,” the user commented. “You black people think you own everything not fair you could’ve done beyonce or rihanna or janet but no cher cher is white respect her.”
In no time at all, Baldwin was quick to join the crowd of Kordei Nation followers to put the negative user in their place. “There is absolutely nothing wrong with Normani dressing up as Cher for Halloween. What do you mean by the first sentence?” Baldwin replied, before firing off: “She can do it because she wants to, she is doing much better than you, you’re behind a computer complaining about a costume. Stop being racist and get out of her page if you don’t like it.”
Thankfully, the Fifth Harmony alum remained blissfully unbothered as the beauty queen she is, and she didn't allow detractors to keep her from slaying look after iconic look as part of her Halloween costume series on social media. (Her oh-so chic Naomi Campbell ensemble, for instance, continues to give us life.)
In other words, keep doing you, Normani!
