Miley Cyrus is recovering after undergoing surgery in hospital on her vocal cords, with reports that she will now have to rest her voice for a while.
The damage to the 26-year-old singer’s vocal cords had reportedly gone unnoticed for years but doctors discovered it while treating her for tonsillitis last month.
At the time she was told that she would need more surgery to fix the damage and that her recovery period would involved serval weeks of silence, according to E! News.
The publication also says that Miley has since left hospital and is recovering from the vocal cord surgery at home.
The ‘Slide Away’ singer has been working on her new album and was planning to head on tour next year, but these plans have reportedly now been put on hold.
“She is still going to release new music but it’s taking longer than anticipated,” a source said to E! News.
“Some of it has to do with the throat surgery she recently had.”
Miley nor her current beau Cody Simpson have spoken out about the surgery, but no doubt Cody is with her helping her recover.
“Cody was with her at the hospital and has been by her side,” a source also told E! News. “He’s with her at the house keeping her company. They are staying in resting up and watching movies.”
We hope Miley makes a speedy recovery!
