Did You See It In the Sky This Morning Just After 6:30?

It was from a C17 Cargo Plane or a fighter jet from Joint Base Charleston.

If you saw a trail across the Lowcountry sky just after 6:30 this morning, that was a rocket with Boeing's Starliner capsule launching from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. It was thought that people as far as Maryland could see the take off. The United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket launched a capsule that will eventually take astronauts to the International Space Station. This flight is an uncrewed test of the capsule, that stays eight days at the ISS until a landing in White Sands, New Mexico. If all goes according to plan, it'll pave the way for Starliner to launch astronauts from American soil as soon as next year.
