The holiday came to light in the Season 9 Seinfeld episode "The Strike", which aired December 18, 1997. The creation of George Constanza's dad Frank, was revived in the episode because of the curiosity of Kramer. The popularity of the TV show lead to the creation of Festivus the Website and Festivus even has its own Wikipedia page.
