Channel 7's Ama Daetz Talks To Jack And Carolyn About Her New Hairstyle!

Among all of the new laws that went into effect January 1, 2020, one was the Crown Law (Create a Respectful and Open Workplace for Natural Hair) which prohibits discrimination against a person at work and at school based on their hairstyle and hair texture. That includes afros, braids, twists, and locks.

This all came from a state senator that said in NJ last year a high school wrestler was forced to cut off his dreadlocks or forfeit his match.

Just before Christmas, ABC 7 news' Ama Daetz debuted her "new" hairstyle on the air. She went from her straight hair to beautiful curls!

Watch her announcement to the Bay Area below!

Curls!

You've probably noticed I've been wearing my natural curls lately. The change really had nothing to do with California's new law that prohibits discrimination against a person at work or school based on their hairstyle and hair texture. If you're curious what sparked the change, check out this quick clip. Happy New Year! <3 https://abc7ne.ws/2QDPTRF
