TEXT TOPIC: You get a gift card from someone, it has a zero balance

My company gives gift cards to recognize employees. They never work. I haven’t said anything because if an organization of size can’t figure the gift card thing out there’s no hope.

My mom bought gift cards one year for my siblings Andy myself and the cards didn''t have money on them. She went through self checkout and used a credit card and thought the purchase went through. I blame it on her getting older. We all laughed about it.

Old school...my future mother in law's live in boyfriend gave us a check for $50 for our wedding and it bounced. Crazy

Chilis gift card following- I never said anything to my aunt - OF COURSE NOT- it was the thought that counted

My sister gave us a gift card to Walmart for our wedding 11 years ago, all good until I went to use it and there was $2.15 available == of course I NEVER mentioned it! I got 4 cans of cat food and it didn’t cost me anything

I loaded two cards for my grandmas 30 each. One card ended up with $60 the other 0 my favorite grandma got btw!

I got married, my elderly aunt gave me a blanket she made and a chili's gift card. I use the card & it had $7 on it. She gave me an old, partially used card

My wife was the maid honor at her best friends wedding. One of the gifts was a gift card. When she went to go use it the balance was at zero dollars! I was mad and told her to call her out on it, but my wife is a nice person and chalked it up as an honest mistake and never said anything

Someone I work with gave my supervisor a $70 coffee gift card for a side job. Went to use it ... $.09. uhhhhhhhh......!!!!!!! Dude's a true donk!

Maybe its merchant errors, not loading the card correctly

Years ago girl that liked my husband gave him a "$100" GC to PF Changs. He took his daughter and grandparents out to eat, wracked up the bill, went to pay the $100+ bill and there was only like $9 on it.

Not exactly the same thing but I got a gift card from a coworker for Panera bread. There is no Panera bread in Utah

Got a Starbucks card for Xmas from bro-in-law. Card was never activated. Sent his teen daughter to buy it. We think she pocketed the money andtook an empty card from the store.

FYI never purchase gift cards with cash. My mom did years ago and the cashier pocketed the cash and never activated the card. Thankfully my mom got her money back.

my bosses wife gave me a gift card to Ulta Beauty, the receipt said it was $100. Went shopping and it only had $30 left. It was a used regift. Lol

Everytime I give a gift card I always tell the person I give it to to let me know if it doesn't work so I can get it fixed.

Nothing was said to the dude. We just laugh about it in her office when needed.
