You may have seen a post or two on social media claiming that your Amazon Echo device can dispense instructions for performing CPR in an emergency.
But is it true?!
Snopes says the information on the viral message that started appearing this month is a mixture of true and false.
Shouting "Alexa, Emergency CPR" as the post says will NOT call an ambulance for you, notes the fact checking site. You will have to do that yourself.
What Amazon's personal assistant can do is provide science based information from the American Heart Association like how to recognize the signs of a heart attack and how to perform the life saving technique.
We're proud to announce the launch of our @amazonecho skill w/ CPR instruction, heart attack & stroke warning signs https://t.co/YraGxg9e4T pic.twitter.com/nb3ZI9GXkr
