Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will drop their HRH titles and repay the £2.4million in taxpayer’s money for renovations made to their residence in Frogmore Cottage per a new agreement revealed from Buckingham Palace.

The deal, which goes into effect this spring, was reached on Saturday (January 18). Per the Daily Mail, the agreement indicates Harry and Meghan will be “required to step back from royal duties” and will no longer receive public funds for royal duties. In light of the loss, it remains unknown whether this new deal will keep Harry from getting the £2.3million a year from the Duchy of Cornwall coffers of his father Prince Charles. Additionally, the married couple will be known as “Harry, Duke of Dussex” and “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.”

“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family,” the Queen expressed in a statement. “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family.”

She continued: “I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life. I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family.”

"With The Queen’s blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations," Buckingham Palace added. "While they can no longer formally represent The Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty."

As Royals fans know, on January 8, Meghan and Harry announced their decision to “step back” from their role as “senior royals” to balance their time in the United Kingdom and North America.
