Kelsea Ballerini has announced the upcoming release of her third studio album. The new project titled, Kelsea, is due March 20, 2020 on Black River Entertainment.

The country star turned to social media on Wednesday night (January 22) to share the news with fans writing, "my third album, kelsea, will be released march 20th and will be available for preorder/presave this friday." Ballerini included a photo of the album cover in the post as well. The cover depicts her lying in the grass in a pink ruffled top with her name spelled out in the bottom left.

Ballerini's previously released single, "homecoming queen?" will be included on the new project along with her new song "Club." Her latest new song titled "" is also expected to be on the new album. The track listing and further details regarding the album have not yet been revealed.

In 2015 Ballerini released her debut album, The First Time, which gave her three No. 1 hits including "Love Me Like You Mean It," "Dibs," and "Peter Pan." Her sophomore album, Unapologetically, scored her additional hits with "Legends," "I Hate Love Songs," and "Miss Me More."

Ballerini has previously spoke on the new album revealing that her happy marriage to Morgan Evans has contributed to her songs in a special way.

"I’m writing the most heartbreaking songs I’ve ever written because I understand what went wrong before now," she told the Tennessean in August 2019. "I think the older I get, the more confident I feel about writing that kind of stuff. I write my songs, and I play guitar, and I write about what I’m going through. I’m just really excited to clean the slate again."
