Matt Stell Covers Ariana Grande's 'God Is A Woman'

In case you missed it, Matt Stell, who is known for his hit, “Prayed for You,” took us to heaven again, but this time he had a little help from pop icon Ariana Grande.

What prompted Matt to take on such a big song from the pop diva known for her high ponytail and big voice? In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Matt shared what sparked the love affair with this provocative, lyrically driven tune. 

“That is an incredible song!" says Matt. "The way the lyric works, I love those kinds of songs that push the envelope lyrically – especially with the title. The lyrics really help to make a cool point, and I thought that from a guy’s perspective… it was interesting!” 

The 35-year-old Arkansas native said, “If I went to a writer’s round, and heard someone singing it just with a guitar, even if it wasn’t one of the greatest singers. I think the lyric is a country song. I think it’s a great song, and I love doing it.”
