Brittany Aldean Has Lost 17 Pounds Since Welcoming Baby Navy

Brittany Aldean is finally feeling like herself again! She recently opened up about her health, diet and her 17-pound weight loss journey following the birth of her second child about one year ago.

Brittany and her country star husband Jason Aldean have two kids together; 2-year-old son Memphis and 11-month-old daughter Navy. Having two pregnancies within two years left Brittany struggling with postpartum depression and her body image.

"I gained 40 pounds with both of my children and it took me a lot longer to start feeling myself after my second [child]. I felt really down," she explains. "Eventually I came to a point where I knew that I just had to take charge."

At that point, she decided to turn to the South Beach Diet, which ultimately helped her re-charge mentally and physically.

"I really wanted to focus on my health and what I was putting into my body. I started South Beach and saw and felt the results almost immediately. I was a better 'me' both mentally and physically and I am thankful that I found a program that truly works as a lifestyle," she shares.

Like on the road when she travels with her husband doesn't stop Brittany from her healthy habits. "I take my meals, snacks and shakes on the road with me, which is so key for keeping me on track," she says, adding, "I'm a firm believer that food is fuel. Eating healthy gives me energy and let's face it, I need all the energy I can get with out busy life and these two babies running around!"

This isn't the first time Brittany has opened up about her struggle with her post-baby body. In a previous interview with People, she said, "You don't feel like yourself and you get really down."

She continued on to remind new moms to not expect instant results. "Give yourself grace. Give yourself time," she encourages. "It does not happen overnight. Your body will heal in time and it will happen eventually."
