With Valentine's Day right around the corner, WalletHub conducted a study to find out which state is best for single people looking for a date or a romantic relationship. WalletHub compared all 50 states across 29 key indicators of "dating-friendliness," including percentage of single adults, movie costs and nightlife options, in order to find out which states are the best (and which are the worst) for singles in 2020. Here's what they found:

Top 10 Best States for Singles:

10) Michigan

9) Massachusetts

8) Wisconsin

7) Illinois

6) Ohio

5) Pennsylvania

4) New York

3) Texas

2) California

1) Florida

Top 10 Worst States for Singles:

10) Mississippi

9) Alabama

8) Alaska

7) Kentucky

6) Kansas

Some other interesting findings from WalletHub's study reveal Louisiana is the state with the highest share of single adults, while Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska and Iowa have the lowest share of single adults. Nevada has the highest gender balance of single adults, while North Dakota has the lowest. If you're interested in online dating, Washington, New Hampshire, and Colorado have the most opportunities for a romance to blossom digitally.
