Bruno Mars' next musical era is going to be one for the books, especially with Disney on his side.
On Thursday (February 6), a source close to TheWrap revealed that the superstar, 34, has inked a deal with Disney to star and produce a narrative film with original music that he will write and perform. While details about the plot are currently under wraps, the project is said to be a music-driven feature film. Mars doesn't have an extensive history with acting, but the star did have a cameo in 1992's Honeymoon in Vegas and was a featured voice actor in Rio 2. Mitchell Leib, president of music and soundtracks at Disney’s film group, reportedly played a heavy hand in brokering the deal between the star and the media giant.
It's been quiet on the new music front for Mars, but the superstar did get the opportunity to work on Charlie Wilson's new single, "Forever Valentine." In mid-January, the star took to Instagram to speak about the experience. "The world could use a little love right about now and who better to bring it to you than one of the greatest of all time, Uncle @imcharliewilson," Mars captioned a photo of the pair. "I had the Honor to produce and sing a little background for him with my Bro’s @stereotypestv and @dmile85."
