With all drama surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step down as full time working members of the Royal Family, it's easy to forget there's another royal wedding on the horizon. Prince Harry and Prince William's cousin, Princess Beatrice, got engaged to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi back in September. Despite being engaged for a few months now, the Firm hasn't announced the happy couple's wedding date. According to a source close to the royals, Princess Beatrice is pretty upset about the big announcement being delayed because two royal scandals have taken center stage.

Not only did Harry and Meghan's historic decision to become financially independent and forfeit their HRH titles delay Beatrice's wedding announcement, the ongoing scandal with her dad, Prince Andrew, regarding his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein has stalled her wedding plans. The announcement has been put off twice in recent weeks and the 31-year-old royal is reportedly "furious" about it.

“The decision has been delayed repeatedly because of all the issues, but finally they have something that seems to work—and barring any problems, that should be when it goes ahead,” a source told The Sun. “The queen has asked everyone to come together to put on a united front.”

Despite an official announcement being withheld, The Sun was able to discover what the wedding date will be. According to insiders with knowledge of the situation, Beatrice's wedding will be held on May 29, 2020 with a reception at Buckingham Palace. The venue for the actual nuptials has yet to be confirmed.

“The press officers of all the palaces hope to portray the Beatrice wedding as the big event that brings the family back together again,” the source said. “Aides know this will be a tough job, but it’s all they can do not just to save the wedding but potentially the monarchy’s reputation.”
