We already knew that Ariana Grande was set to appear on Jim Carrey's Showtime dramedy, Kidding, but details about the pop titan's role have recently been revealed, courtesy of EW.

"Ariana plays Piccola Grande, the Pickle Fairy of Hope — and the more hope you have, the bigger she is," series creator and executive producer Dave Holstein told EW in a report, which was published on Thursday (February 6). "You can expect her to melt your heart and empty your eyes."

Grande's episode will air on February 23 and it sounds like the collaboration couldn't have been better. "You know, Jim and Ariana are two kindred spirits who have spent their careers turning pain into art — and somehow still have a lot of fun doing it," Holstein said, admitting that there are four original songs in the episode. Grande will sing two of them. "Her character is the personification of hope. Her mantra is: 'If you can see me, how bad can things be?'"

In July 2019, Grande took to social media to announce her guest role and spoke about working with "idol" Carrey. "No words do this moment justice," she captioned a photo of the two on set. "Thankful for the most special experience of my life. Nothing is crazier than getting to work with and spend time with someone whom you’ve idolized and adored since before you could speak … This was a DREAM of an experience."

there aren’t words. ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️i’ve been staring at my screen and no words do this moment justice. thankful for the most special experience of my life. nothing is crazier than getting to work with and spend time with someone whom you’ve idolized and adored since before you could speak. actually, what’s even crazier is discovering that person to be more special and warm and generous in person than you ever could’ve imagined. i get to make a tiny appearance on the hilarious and deeply moving show Kidding next season. this was a DREAM of an experience. thank you thank you thank you Jim and thank you Dave for having me. i have so much more to say but words actually can’t .... cover it.
