Day Care Provider Charged in Cass County Baby's Death

ANITA, Iowa - A Cass County woman is in custody in connection with the death of an infant last October.

Police say the eleven-week-old victim suffered injuries consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome while in the care of 36-year-old Alison Dorsey at her daycare center.

Dorsey is charged with first-degree murder and child abuse.

She was taken into custody Thursday morning.

Dorsey is being held in the Cass County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond and has a court appearance scheduled for Friday.
