Billy Joel wasn't still dwelling on the January burglary that resulted in damage to a dozen of his motorcycles and vandalism to the Oyster Bay, New York, home where he lives with his wife, Alexis Joel, and their baby daughter.
Joel addressed the incident during a recent show at Madison Square Garden — his 119th all-time concert there — noting that he's since taken measures to ensure his family's safety and peace of mind.
"Last time I was here, they hit my house," Joel said from the stage during a break early in his show between "The Entertainer" and "Vienna." "Everybody knows I'm not home."
Joel has been playing MSG once a month since January of 2014. His latest concert there extended his streak there to 73 sold-out concerts in a row.
He continued: "I got dogs, lights, guns, everything at the house now. I'm hoping they try it again. Come, come! Bring it on!"
Joking aside, he added that "everyone is fine" now, despite the ordeal.
Joel last played The Garden on Saturday, January 25. When he returned home two days later, he discovered thieves had ransacked his family home.
Initial reports noted the damaged motorcycles and a plundered office but did not specify what was missing. Burglars apparently entered by smashing a glass door leading to the garage.
No one was home at the time.
