One person was killed after getting shot in the head following a confrontation over a parking space at Lenox Mall in Atlanta, Georgia. Authorities said that two groups of people got into an argument over the space in the parking lot, which ended when both parties went inside the mall.

When both groups were done shopping, they got into another argument about the parking space. During the confrontation, one of the individuals was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

"We saw a gentleman standing with a gun, and then shots fired," Gino Vowin told WSB-TV. "And then it kind of went hectic. We were just having dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, and all you see are cop cars pulling up."

Four suspects got into their car and fled the scene, but crashed while still in the parking lot. They got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. An off-duty police officer managed to detain one of the suspects, but they were released after it was determined they were not the shooter. Authorities said they are still trying to locate the gunman.

"These are brazen acts that are being committed within the presence of law enforcement officers," Atlanta Police Maj. Andrew Senzer said. "We're going to continue to work with mall security to ensure we're providing the process to where we can take back the space."
