Country singer, Jimmie Allen, has released the music video for his latest single, "This Is Us" featuring pop singer, Noah Cyrus.
The video, directed by Dustin Haney, finds Allen and Cyrus reflecting on their former relationship and dreaming of a world that brings them together once again. In a recent interview, Allen compared parts of the video to the Netflix show, Stranger Things.
"The video has a compelling pull," he said. "The set is similar to Stranger Things when the character Eleven blindfolds herself and goes into the dark room in her head, creating a world where she can see the person she's thinking about."
He adds, "When they [fans] watch the video. I hope it brings the person they love to mind. And if they love them, I hope they realize that love is always worth fighting for."

"This Is Us" is a first glimpse for fans at what's to come on his next album. In a recent interview, Allen spoke about his new music. "I have so many people that will comment on my stuff all the time and say, 'You're a country artist. Do this more country, do that more country.' And I always tell every artist and songwriter, 'Make the music you love. Let everyone else worry about labeling it," he said.
This isn't the first time Allen has worked with artists outside of country music. He previously hinted at upcoming collaborations with Matchbox Twenty's lead singer, Rob Thomas and Fugees member Wyclef Jean. Additionally he's hinted at projects with R&B singer, Keke Palmer, and gospel artist, Kelly Price. As far as collaborations within country music, Allen dreams of working with the one and only, Shania Twain.
Allen released his debut album, Mercury Lane, featuring his first hit single, "Best Shot" in 2018. "This Is Us" immediately follows Allen's second career No. 1 single, "Make Me Want To."
