Lee Boyd Malvo, the man who as a teenager was one-half of a two-man sniper team that terrorized the Washington D.C. region and killed 10 people in Oct. 2002, was reportedly married in prison earlier this month, the Washington Post reports.

Malvo, now 35, was married in a ceremony at Red Onion State Prison in southwest Virginia, where he is currently serving a life sentence. No details about the ceremony were released, however, Malvo's mentor and confidant Carmeta Albarus, told the Associated Press that he has grown over the past 17 years of his sentence.

"He has grown into an adult, and has found love with a wonderful young lady," Alberus said. "It was a beautiful ceremony."

The pair reportedly met about two years ago when the unnamed bride began writing Malvo in prison and began visiting him regularly sometime later after that.

Malvo was only 17-years-old when he teamed up with John Allen Muhammad to go on a killing spree in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. for several weeks in 2002. Dubbed the 'D.C. Sniper' or the Beltway sniper attacks, at least 10 people were killed at random in public places like parking lots and gas stations.

The pair modified the backseat and truck of a sedan where they could carry out their attacks.

They were ultimately caught by authorities. Malvo was sentenced to three life sentences over three jurisdictions, while Mohammad was sentenced to death and executed in 2009.
