Two Russian YouTube "pranksters" allege they duped Prince Harry into revealing his true feelings about stepping down from his position within the Royal Family. Alexey Stolyarov and Vladimir Kuznetsov were reportedly able to convince the Duke of Sussex he was speaking with teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg and her father during two phone calls held in January. Audio from the calls was published by The Sun, which Stolyarov and Kuznetsov claim is legitimate.
During the call, Prince Harry candidly spoke about his decision to step back as a full time working member of the Royal Family, as well as his move to Canada with Meghan Markle and their son Archie. "Sometimes the right decision isn't always the easy one," Prince Harry allegedly said. "And this decision certainly wasn't the easy one but it was the right decision for our family, the right decision to be able to protect my son. I think there's a hell of a lot of people around the world that can identify and respect us for putting our family first."
"I can assure you, marrying a Prince or Princess is not all it's made out to be!" the Duke of Sussex continues. Despite some of the hardships they've faced since moving abroad, including a falling out with some of his family members, Harry reportedly the pranksters "It's a tricky one, but we will start a new life."
As for whether he has regrets about leaving England and his role in the Royal Family, he said: "Oh no, I think [life in Canada is much better (than royal life). You forget, I was in the military for ten years so I'm more normal than my family would like to believe. But certainly being in a different position now gives us the ability to say things and do things that we might not have been able to do."
He also took time to set the record straight on being stripped of his royal titles, informing the pranksters that he and Meghan were not actually stripped of any titles following their move. "You mustn't believe what you read, no one has stripped us of our titles," he explained. "Because of a technicality within the family, if we are earning money separately from within the family structure, then we obviously have been asked not to use our titles in order to make money, which we would never do. But the press managed to jump on that to make it look like we had been stripped."
Prince Harry and Buckingham Palace have declined to comment on the call's authenticity yet, however, Stolyarov and Kuznetsov have previously duped other prominent public figures in the past, including Elton John, Bernie Sanders, and Joaquin Phoenix.
