Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are heading home.

Five days after testing positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus), the couple has been released from an Australian hospital, Us Weekly has confirmed.

As of Monday (March 16), a rep for Hanks revealed he and his wife are now in self-quarantine in a rental house in Australia, where the stars have remained since contracting the wide-spreading virus on March 11. “Hello, folks,” Hanks wrote on Twitter at the time. “Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too."

"To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive," Hanks confirmed.

The 63-year-old had been filming in Australia for Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic when Warner Bros. halted production after the pair’s diagnoses were confirmed.

The following day, Hanks shared an update on social media, informing fans that he and the Mamma Mia! actress had gone into quarantine. “There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time,” he wrote. “There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball.”

The latest reports indicate 4,500 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed and 88 people have died in the United States as a result of the outbreak.
