Drake drew concern from fans after it was thought he may have contracted COVID-19 (coronavirus).
The whispers concerning the emcee’s health started earlier this week after he was spotted hanging out with Kevin Durant, who recently tested positive for the contagious disease. Since Durant’s diagnosis, it was later reported that Drake had been in self-isolation at his mansion in Toronto, though it was unknown whether he'd tested for the virus himself.
Days later, the “God’s Plan” musician officially put his followers’ worries to rest after revealing he’d tested negative for coronavirus. Taking to Instagram Live with his father, Dennis Graham, Drizzy said, "You know I had to to a test the other day. Yeah, I had to do a test. It came back negative, though.” Without getting too specific about the “uncomfortable” exam, the lyricist said, “they put that Q-Tip all the way inside your thoughts.”
In Canada, the coronavirus has infected 1,331 people and caused 20 deaths. The United States has since reached upwards of 26,900 cases and 348 deaths related to COVID-19.
As the outbreak continues to spread, more and more celebrities have tested positive for the virus. Among them include David Bryan, Andy Cohen, Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, and others. In addition to Durant, Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Marcus Smart, Christian Wood, and more NBA athletes have also tested positive for the disease.
