ABC's "The View" - Season 22

Meghan McCain is pregnant!

On Sunday (March 22), the View co-host revealed she and her husband, Ben Domenech, are expecting a child. Announcing the news in a letter via Twitter, McCain also explained how her pregnancy during the nation’s ongoing coronavirus pandemic will impact her role on the show.

"My husband Ben and I have been blessed to find out I’m pregnant,” she begins the message. “Although this isn’t how I expected to announce my pregnancy, both we and our families are excited to share the news with you all."

“I consulted with my doctors and they advised me that for the safety of our baby and myself, I should be extra vigilant about limiting the amount of people we come in contact with," she continued. "Starting immediately, I’ll be joining the millions of Americans who are self-isolating as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a result, I will be appearing on The View from home via satellite.”

The outspoken Republican's pregnancy news comes eight months after McCain revealed she'd suffered a miscarriage in an op-ed she wrote fro The New York Times.

Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, The View has had to make some adjustments to the panel. Earlier this month, fellow panelists Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg opted to moderate the talk show from home since the wide-spreading virus poses a greater threat to people in their age bracket. With that, only Sunny Hostin and guest co-host Sara Haines have been on set.

As of Monday morning (March 23), there are more than 35,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and over 450 deaths related to the disease in the United States alone.
