Guy Fieri aids restaurant workers affected by the coronavirus pandemic by helping to launch a relief fund

The famous tv star Guy Fieri and the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation have teamed up to start a Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. This will provide support to food workers whose finances and lives have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

All of the money donated will go directly to restaurant workers and they are able to apply for a one-time $500 check in addition. This is for necessities such as housing, transportation, utilities, child-care, groceries, medical bills and/or student loans.

Applications are being accepted starting April 2. According to the press release it is on a “first-come, first served basis.”

“They are the hardest working, most real deal workers you’ve ever met… the heartbeats of their communities,” according to Guy Fieri in the press release.
