Katy Perry has seemingly confirmed that she is indeed set for a spot on the Las Vegas strip.
After almost a year of whispers, a pregnant Perry, 35, alluded to a Sin City residency on Sunday (April 12) via Instagram Live. When a user inquired about whether or not she's heading to Vegas, the pop star offered a suggestive response. "Hey Patrick," she said on-camera, before offering a wink and a smile. "That one was for you."
As per a 2019 report from the Las Vegas Review Journal, Perry was spotted touring the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She reportedly explored the venue for less than an hour and was joined by Caesars Entertainment officials to discuss a possible residency. "She and members of her entourage were shown the balcony and lower-level seating and also visited the Colosseum’s dressing rooms," the outlet wrote at the time.
Even if Perry does indeed announce an upcoming Vegas residency, her venture will not launch for some time because of her pregnancy and the COVID-19 pandemic. In a piece for The New York Times Magazine, Zeke Emanuel, the vice provost for global initiatives and director of the Healthcare Transformation Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, was asked about when the nation would "restart" its economy and he said it wouldn't happen until fall 2021.
