Demi Lovato Says She No Longer Talks To Selena Gomez, The Jonas Brothers

Demi Lovato is venturing forward with a new chapter in life and that includes a new batch of friends. However, that doesn't mean that the star doesn't appreciate her former confidants for their roles they played in her life.

In the comeback kid's new cover story for Harper's Bazaar's May 2020 issue, the pop star, 27, reflected on her bond with Selena Gomez. "When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them," the star said of Gomez's support message after Lovato's headline-making Grammy performance. "But I’m not friends with her, so it felt….I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best."

Asked if she still talks to Joe Jonas or any of the JoBros, Lovato shook her head no. The acts originated from the same Disney platform and were previously being under the same management. On the other hand, Miley Cyrus is one of the stars from that era that Lovato does keep in contact with nowadays. "She's awesome, and I love her to death and always will, always have," she said, adding, "But I think she’s kind of the only one from that era that I still stay in touch with."

Looking towards the future, Lovato has had time to use her personal trials as inspiration for her upcoming music. "I would hate for a detail to become the headline when I've worked so hard for my music," she explained. "But I will say that I’ve really appreciated the patience the public has given me over the past year and a half to figure my sh*t out, because I think the mistake I made when I was 18, when I went into treatment, was that I went back to work six months later. But at the same time I've also sat back on the sidelines for two years. I’ve kept my mouth shut, while the tabloids have run wild. And my album is finally the place where I get to set the record straight on everything."

Some people are home alone or don’t have family or pets; they only have their minds and their thoughts. We have to learn to quiet our thoughts with things like meditation, checking in with friends, or finding things that will help you grow emotionally and spiritually.” —@ddlovato. See the full cover shoot and read her interview at the link in our bio.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣ If you or someone you know is struggling to cope with the current crisis, call the Disaster Distress Helpline at 1-800-985-5990 or text HOME to 741741 to be connected with a crisis counselor.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣ Editor-in-chief: @glendabailey ⁣⁣ Photographer: @alexilubomirski ⁣⁣ Fashion Editor: @Menamorado ⁣⁣ Dress: @maisonvalentino⁣⁣ Jewelry: @cartier⁣⁣ Hair: @mrchrismcmillan Makeup: @hungvanngo ⁣⁣ Manicure: @lisajachno
