Mom makes a DIY ‘McDonalds’ meal for her kids during quarantine
April 14, 2020
A mother from England wanted to do something special for her kids amid quarantine so she made her own DIY Happy Meals for them from “McDonald’s.” Kirsty Collins used pens, pencils, paint and cardboard she found from her around her home. She then made her own version of a Happy Meal and Chicken McNugget meal.
"It was worth the effort after seeing the smiles on the kids faces," she said to FOX 10. "They were so happy and really loved it.”
She and her partner, Darren Duffill, worked on it all night from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next day. She decorated the boxes in traditional McDonald’s colors and folded them into Happy Meal shapes. They made contains for the burgers, chicken nuggets and fries.
"It took quite a bit of time and effort to do but it was quite fun for us as well," said Collins to FOX 10. "I like making things, so it wasn't too much of a chore to do this."
