It's hard to find reasons to celebrate as the coronavirus continues to spread across the world, but the members of Green Day have a reason to pop a bottle of champagne (from the safety of their own homes, of course). Their Father of All... single "Oh Yeah" topped Billboard's Alternative Songs chart this week, which means the band broke the record for the longest span of No. Alt 1 songs — dethroning the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Green Day's first No. 1 Alt hit was in June 2014 with "Longview," which was a whopping 25 years, 10 months and one week ago ago. RCHP's first and last chart-topping singles ("Give It Away" and "Dark Necessities") were separated by  24 years, nine months and two weeks. The achievement also puts Green Day at 12 overall No. 1 singles on the Alternative Songs chart, which is just one song behind RHCP for the most in the chart's history.
