Ryan Hurd Shares Alluring Cover Of 'False God' And Taylor Swift Approves

Ryan Hurd shared his rendition of Taylor Swift's "False God" with a new video on Tuesday (April 14).
"False God. Thank you @taylorswift13 for the song clinic," Hurd tweeted alongside the video. "My favorite song off of Lover. We covered this live on Platonic, it felt like a deep dive into someone else's poetry."
Swift quickly gave her stamp of approval replying, "Love this so much" alongside the praying hands emoji. She also share the video to her Instagram Story writing, "This is incredible."
This isn't the first time Hurd has covered Swift. In 2019, he frequently included "Dress" from Swift's Reputation album on his tour set list. Hurd has written songs for Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum and more and is also a recording artist himself. He's released three EPs, his most recent being Platonic, which arrived last fall.

Hurd is the husband to fellow artist, Maren Morris. The couple recently welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Hayes Andrew Hurd on March 23, 2020.
After spending a few months at home, the whole family will hit the road for Morris' headlining "RSVP: The Tour." Hurd, who's opening for his wife jokes, "I'm there to pretty much hold the baby from 9:30 to 11. That's basically why I got booked. I was asked and told that we will be touring together this year."
