Ryan Hurd is kicking the week off with the release of his brand new single, "Every Other Memory." The track, co-written by Hurd alongside Nathan Spicer and Cole Taylor, is a nostalgic-filled anthem about memories of a past lover.
"I still smell the smoke from/ The Fourth of July fireworks/ And I still feel the kick drum/ Front row at the concert/ After Talladega/ It’s safe to say you stick around," Hurd sings on the first verse.
"'Every Other Memory' just feels like such a nostalgic track," Hurd says. "It's so cool because it feels like each line in the song is almost like an emoji. It's a feeling and it's a picture that you can just really grab onto. The way the words came out, it just felt like each picture was really amazing."
Hurd's new single comes just about a week after Hurd shared a video covering Taylor Swift's "False God." The clip quickly caught Swift's eye, who gave her stamp of approval, replying, "Love this so much" alongside the praying hands emoji.
"Every Other Memory" follows Hurd's previous hit, "To A T," and is the first new music shared since releasing his Platonic EP last year. In a recent interview, Hurd shared that more new music is coming soon. "I have a whole record recorded," he says, adding, "it's just about figuring out how to release it."
