Birdman Offers To Pay Rent For Residents In His Hometown Amid Pandemic

Birdman is giving back to his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana in a big way.

On Monday (April 20), the 51-year-old Cash Money Records co-founder announced that he will be paying one month’s rent for those living in the Uptown New Orleans community where he grew up to ease the burden of those financially impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

"I would like 2 offer to pay everybody rent for month of May (for those who in need) in residents area of UPTOWN New Orleans where I was born and raised at," he wrote on Instagram. "from mac melph calio and ST Thomas housing also from 3rd ward to 17th ward I would like HANO to support us on accomplishin this and@q93fmI also spoke with @theuptownangela to help me put this togather."

"I would like our mayor @mayorcantrell help support this cause also wanna thank all hospital on front line Risking they life to save lives," he continued. "I wanna thanks everybody that wrk with tha Gladys and Johnny foundation my company cashmoney records @cashmoneyofficial @republicrecords for always supporting our foundation for 20plus years."

Earlier this month, Master P, who calls New Orleans home as well, also offered to help the New Orleans community by creating a sign up for individuals over the age of 60 to have their homes deep cleaned and by giving senior citizens monetary donations, groceries, house cleaning supplies and other necessities.

“My thing is, a lot of people forget about the elderly and a lot of the elderly are the ones that are getting hit hard,” he told TMZ. “We are losing a lot of the elderly in the community and my thing is, making sure we go out and get them groceries and making sure that we make monetary donations to them.”
