Willie Nelson knows how to double down on birthdays.

Did you know that the country smoke show celebrates his birthday on both April 29 and April 30? He was born on April 29th just before midnight, but the small Texas town where he was born didn't register his birthday until the next day. It worked out for everyone because, based on releasing 143 albums throughout his lifetime, this bonafide songwriter should be celebrated twice!

Let’s get started. Hear Nathanial Rateliff praise, Willie, in his new track, “Willie’s Birthday,” which includes lyrics we can all relate to right now.

"The world has gone crazy, but we've still got Willie, and all the good things he's done for us here," sings Rateliff, in a spot-on imitation of Nelson's songwriting style.
