Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's dysfunction continues to make headlines with a newly-released 911 call reporting the fight between the stars.
The call, which was obtained by the Daily Mail, was made around 8:30 p.m. on May 21, 2016, the evening that the Hollywood titan, 56, reportedly hit her, ripped out her hair, choked and nearly suffocated her. "Hi, I need to report an assault right now happening at 849 Broadway at the Eastern building. It's penthouse three," Heard's female confidant, who chose to remain anonymous, says during the call, adding, "Send somebody up there please."
Depp's lawyers claimed that the call was simply a hoax. "Quite simply this was an ambush, a hoax. They set Mr. Depp up by calling the cops but the first attempt didn't do the trick," Adam Waldman told the Daily Mail. Additionally, the actor's legal team said that the female voice on the recording does not belong to Tillett Wright, the longtime friend of Heard's who claimed to call the authorities. Wright's legal time hit back, arguing that he called the cops from New York and enlisted a friend to phone 911 from Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Heard's lawyers said that Waldman's claims were "fantasies." "Mr. Depp’s representations about the 911 calls on the night of May 21, 2016 are false, and Mr. Depp and his lawyers should know better,” Roberta Kaplan added.
