On Wednesday (April 29), Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary. In honor of the milestone, People spoke with Kate's wedding stylist Richard Ward about a sweet, never-before-heard story about their nuptials.

After Kate and William tied the knot at Westminster Abbey, they held a reception for their guests at Clarence House. Both Kate and William changed into different outfits for the reception, as well. Not only did Kate change her gown, she got a fresh blowout for the reception, as well. According to Kate's hair stylist, her new husband had to step in and help get her hair ready.

“I wanted to show Kate the back of her hair, and I was struggling to walk with this 500-year-old mirror," Ward told People. The Duke of Cambridge must have been waiting nearby, because William quickly jumped in to help. “He just said, ‘Let me give you a hand,’ and I said, ‘No, no, honestly,’ but he took one end and I’ve got the other and we’re shuffling along with this mirror—he’s great, he really is.”

Unfortunately, Kate and William spent their ninth anniversary in self-isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic. Hopefully once things start to improve they're able to celebrate properly.
