"Weird Al" Yankovic is guest-starring in the upcoming season of the newly-revived cop comedy series Reno 911!
But the famed musician/comedian Yankovic isn't making a cameo; he's playing another musical iconoclast, the Motor City Madman Ted Nugent!
"Finally, some good news in the world," Yankovic announced via Twitter Wednesday. "After an 11-year hiatus, one of the funniest shows of all time is back! The new season of Reno 911 begins streaming on Quibi on May 4. (Oh, and I show up at one point as Ted Nugent.)"
Yankovic's Tweet also included a photo of himself in costume, wearing Nugent's signature goatee and a shirt and cowboy hat emblazoned with the stars and stripes of the American flag.

"You may have caught a glimpse in the trailer — yes, that's me doing a scarily accurate impression of Ted Nugent in the new season of Reno 911," Yankovic added via Instagram.
Reno 911 last aired in 2009 on Comedy Central. The screwball Cops-parody series arrived in 2003 and employed an ensemble cast of comic improvisors throughout its initial run, including Thomas Lennon, Niecy Nash, Cedric Yarbrough, Robert Ben Garant, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Kerri Kenny-Silver and Carlos Alazraqui. The show also featured frequent appearances by Joe Lo Truglio.
"Reno 911! holds a special place in our hearts, and it will be a delight to get the original cast back together for 'reboot goofin'," Lennon said in a statement about the relaunch. "Quibi's short format seems custom made for our show."
