It's only right that Sasha and Malia Obama ended up giving their first public interview in their mom Michelle Obama's Becoming documentary!

According to USA Today, the highly-anticipated Netflix film set to arrive on the streaming platform on Wednesday (May 6) — features not only a surprise cameo from the former First Lady's husband, former President Barack Obama, but also an extremely rare appearance of their two daughters.

"Barack and I are empty-nesters, and that has been exhilarating to watch the two little beings you were in charge of grow-up," FLOTUS said before the documentary cut to a brief interview with Sasha (a rising sophomore at the University of Michigan) and Malia (a junior at Harvard).

"I'm excited for her to be proud of what she's done," Sasha said in the clip. "Because I think that that's the most important thing for a human to do, is be proud of themselves." Malia then added that their mother is "no longer facing that same scrutiny—being able to let all of that leave your mind, creates so much more space."

At another point in the documentary, Malia spoke about how moved she became during one of her mom's speaking events. "I cried, again," Malia told Michelle after she got offstage.

"What made you cry?" her mother asked.

"This has demonstrated, in a way, (that), damn, those years weren't for nothin','" Malia said. "You see that huge crowd out there... People are here because people really believe in love and hope in other people. Also, every time you guys play Stevie Wonder, I don't know, I cry a little bit."

Becoming shares the name of Michelle's 2018 memoir, which quickly became the bestselling hardcover book of that year.

The documentary will offer an in-depth look at the former FLOTUS' life and pick up where her memoir left off as it takes viewers on Michelle's 34-city book tour.

"Those months I spent traveling—meeting and connecting with people in cities across the globe—drove home the idea that what we share in common is deep and real and can’t be messed with. In groups large and small, young and old, unique and united, we came together and shared stories, filling those spaces with our joys, worries, and dreams," Michelle shared on Instagram last month. "We processed the past and imagined a better future. In talking about the idea of ‘becoming,’ many of us dared to say our hopes out loud."
