An individual from California is giving back to the frontline hospital workers battling the coronavirus pandemic. An anonymous person made a $1 million donation to the employees who work at Dignity Health Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz.
The donor stipulated that the money must go to all the people who have been going above and beyond to keep the hospital up and running.
"To the heroes of Dominican Hospital: Thank you for standing up (and staying up!) to care for our community. This human kindness is what makes you heroic," the donor wrote. "Please accept this donation in recognition of and with great thanks for all that you do. And please know that my heart is with you as we seek to protect and care for each other during this challenging time."
The hospital announced that all full-time employees will receive $800, while part-time workers will get $600.
"There are so many people who keep the hospital running. Nurses and doctors are getting the praise, but we couldn't do it without the staff who clean the floors, deliver supplies, fix machines, everything. It's a team, and I'm glad the whole team is getting a thank you," hospital president Dr. Nanette Mickiewicz told KGO-TV.
