One of the most difficult parts of practicing social distancing is being separated from your loved ones. Since we can't meet up for a coffee IRL with friends and family for the foreseeable future, Starbucks and Uber Eats are teaming up to find a new way to bring us together with the people we're missing.

The new Uber Eats feature allows people to send a drink or menu item from Starbucks to anybody they want. It's just like ordering something for yourself on the delivery service—you just need to put in the address of your intended recipient of the order instead of your own.

Once you've placed your order, you'll be able to track the delivery, as well as share updates with the person you're sending a treat to. Even if your loved one doesn't have Uber Eats, you can still share tracking and delivery notifications with them.

If the person you'd like to send a coffee or menu item to lives far away, don't worry—there's no distance limits on this feature. You'll be able to look for Starbucks locations near them and order from there.

"Our new socially distant reality has transformed how people connect with those they care about, leaving many looking for ways to feel closer to friends and loved ones. And if there’s one thing we know to be true, food has a way of doing exactly that," Starbucks said in a press release.

With Mother's Day around the corner, this might be a perfect way to share a coffee with Mom even when you can't be together.
