Kesha Recreated Her 'Tik Tok' Cover Art on Tik Tok & It's Perfect

The year was 2009, and pop fans were singing about waking up feeling like P. Diddy, and brushing their teeth with a bottle of Jack [Daniels], thanks to Kesha's hit song "Tik Tok" (and at the time, spelled it Ke$ha with a $) — it was a party anthem of sorts. Well, fast forward to today, and Kesha herself has recreated her Tik Tok cover art ON Tik Tok (the app) ... it's Tik Tok inception!

If you're not already familiar and/or don't find yourself spiraling down a black hole of Tik Tok videos every night for hours on end, let me fill you in on this delightful trend that has been taking the rounds. People have been recreating album and song covers as they relate them to real life situations they've experienced or are currently experiencing.

So, Kesha decided to jump in on the trend and recreate her own "Tik Tok" cover art, featuring smudged eyeliner and her hair covering half her face as she is blowing glitter at the camera. And, although Kesha has dark hair now, she still nailed it.

And the side by side. Very here for this meta, nostalgic throwback:

Kesha released her latest album, High Road, in the very beginning of 2020, and it features songs like "Raising Hell" featuring Big Freedia, and "Resentment" which features Brian Wilson, Sturgill Simpson, and Wrabel.

And, although Kesha had to postpone her "High Road Tour," she has been helping to support organizations seeking to aid career musicians and music industry workers who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Aside from several performances, she is also selling face masks via her merch store and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Crew Nation, a global relief fund for live music crews.
