Katy Perry's KP 5 era has officially begun, because the first single, "Daisies," from her forthcoming fifth full-length album has officially arrived.
"Daises" is an empowering song about making your dreams come true no matter one anyone tells you. In the chorus, she sings, "They told me I was out there, tried to knock me down/ Took those sticks and stones, showed 'em I could build a house/ They tell me that I'm crazy, but I'll never let 'em change me/ 'Til they cover me in daisies, daisies, daisies/ They said I'm going nowhere, tried to count me out/ Took those sticks and stones, showed 'em I could build a house/ They tell me that I'm crazy, but I'll never let 'em change me/ 'Til they cover me in daisies, daisies, daisies."
During a Facebook Live, Perry explained of her new single, "It's a song for all of the dreams you’ve been dreaming about, and all the things you wanna achieve, and maybe you've had a lot of time to reflect. We've had a lot of time to reflect and think about possibly what we took for granted in the past and how we’ll change for the future. This song is kind of about doing that, about going and getting your dreams, and not letting anyone or anything stand in your way."
Fans will be able to get their hands on Katy's new album on August 14th. The release date was revealed by Amazon's Alexa, as the AI assistant replied, "Katy asked me to let you know that her new album will be released on August 14," when asked by a fan when "KP5" was coming out.
Katy's new album fill follow her 2017 album Witness, as well as her song "Never Worn White," which during its music video, Katy revealed that she is pregnant with her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom.
