"It's savage in there," says Luke Combs. Is the "Beer Never Broke My Heart" singer talking about a rowdy bar or a rocking music festival? No. He is talking about his refrigerator.
In an interview with Cody Alan, Luke dishes on the staples that can always be found inside of his fridge.
"I've always got eggs in there. I like to cook breakfast and make coffee," reveals Luke.
"We always have leftovers. Me and Nicole will cook dinner a lot when we are home. There are only two of us, and a recipe is never portioned out for two people, so there is always a gallon of mash potatoes, and we have eaten like three spoonfuls. You know? We are cooking like eight servings of mac n cheese, and, well, I'll eat like 6, but there is always something left." Luke jokes.
Home and family are common themes within country music songs. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are all spending a lot of time at home with our families, which makes Luke's song "Refrigerator Door" resonate with our hearts.
Click the link below to listen to Luke croon his way through a story centered on a man reflecting on his past and the realization that postcards, photos, recipes for apple pie, and mementos make up a life well-lived can be found on something as simple as a refrigerator door. Accompanied by just an acoustic guitar, the sparse arrangement allows the heartfelt lyrics to take front and center.
