Large Protests Move Through Hollywood, Downtown L.A.

Protests and marches continued to take place across Los Angeles Tuesday, with the biggest ones happening in Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood. KFI reporter Kris Ankarlo was downtown throughout the day, following a protest organized by Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the Baptist Ministers Conference.

The march began in front of LAPD headquarters and snaked its way around the city until arriving again in front of headquarters. At one point, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti went out and spoke to protesters:

While all of that was going on, another march was taking place up in Hollywood along Hollywood Boulevard. Steve Gregory was out there monitoring the situation which was calm, but then around noon Steve described a "flash mob" of people taking over the intersection of Hollywood and Vine.

The protest went from a few dozen people to hundreds of people almost instantly, blocking traffic in all directions and walking westbound on Hollywood Boulevard. Steve also saw the National Guard arrive to the area, and captured a pretty surreal image on Twitter:
