An intensely powerful moment at the intersection of Main and 1st as protesters form up circles of prayer and then break into hymns. This particular demonstration was organized by SCLC and the Baptist Ministers Conference. @KFIAM640 pic.twitter.com/MTQq1jThYp

Protests and marches continued to take place across Los Angeles Tuesday, with the biggest ones happening in Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood. KFI reporter Kris Ankarlo was downtown throughout the day, following a protest organized by Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the Baptist Ministers Conference.
The march began in front of LAPD headquarters and snaked its way around the city until arriving again in front of headquarters. At one point, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti went out and spoke to protesters:
This is demonstrative of the complexity of the moment. Mayor Garcetti comes out to speak at this demonstration, some people want to listen...but one guy, a loud guy, starts up a chant, and then that guy is met with a rebuke by another guy. @KFIAM640 pic.twitter.com/842ot99R1j

And back to the start. Protest march arrives in front of LAPD Headquarters with an exhortation to keep things peaceful and avoid property. This crowd has again grown by orders of magnitude. @KFIAM640 pic.twitter.com/XlusRjTDZJ

While all of that was going on, another march was taking place up in Hollywood along Hollywood Boulevard. Steve Gregory was out there monitoring the situation which was calm, but then around noon Steve described a "flash mob" of people taking over the intersection of Hollywood and Vine.
The protest went from a few dozen people to hundreds of people almost instantly, blocking traffic in all directions and walking westbound on Hollywood Boulevard. Steve also saw the National Guard arrive to the area, and captured a pretty surreal image on Twitter:
