A new biography about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is set to be released in August. Finding Freedom: Meghan and Harry and the Making of a Modern Royal Family will take readers inside the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's life leading up to their decision to step down from their roles within the Royal Family. Written by royal correspondents Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durandaim, the biography aims to tell the "true story" of the couple, as well as dispel "the many rumors and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond," according to publishing house Harper Colins.

One of the rumors the book will reportedly shut down is that Meghan was the driving force behind the couple's decision to leave the Royal Family. While their announcement earlier this year shocked the world, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had reportedly been discussing the move for quite some time. A source told The Sun that Harry and Meghan discussed leaving royal life behind before they even said "I do."

"The book will explore the journey that Meghan and Harry went through in coming to the conclusion that they did. It will make clear that far from it being a snap decision that they took a long time to make it," the source explained. "The seeds of Megxit were sown before they even got married. The truth is that Harry had been deeply unhappy for a long time. And he and Meghan openly discussed going in a different direction well before they got married."

A publishing insider with intel on Finding Freedom echoed these sentiments, as well. "That word 'Megxit' in particular has always angered Prince Harry. It gives the impression that the decision to walk away from the Royal Family was Meghan’s," the insider said. "The reality is Harry drove that decision. The book will make that clear and explain why it had to happen. The truth is Harry had been unhappy for a long, long time."
