'This Is Us' Writer Jas Waters' Tragic Cause Of Death Revealed

Jas Waters’ tragic cause of death has been revealed.
On Wednesday (June 10), the news of the This Is Us writer’s passing was confirmed on Twitter via one of the show’s accounts. "The entire #ThisIsUs family was devastated to learn of Jas Waters passing," read the tweet. "In our time together, Jas left her mark on us and ALL over the show. She was a brilliant storyteller and a force of nature. We send our deepest sympathies to her loved ones. She was one of us. RIP @JasFly."
According to PEOPLE, the Los Angeles County Coroner determined Waters’ died on Tuesday (June 9) by hanging in what has been ruled a suicide. She was 39 years old.
In her lifetime, Waters was an author, journalist, and TV personality who boasted writing credits on projects like Showtime’s Kidding, Comedy Central’s Hood Adjacent with James Davis, This Is Us, and in the 2019 film, What Men Want.
Waters’ This Is Us co-workers and fans alike took to social media to grieve the loss with heartfelt tributes to the star.
Mandy Moore, who plays Rebecca Pearsonon the show, wrote, "Sending love and light to @JasFly’s family and loved ones."
"We were graced with @JasFly on the show as a fantastic writer but to know her and her beautiful spirit was to love her,” wrote Chrissy Metz, who portrays Moore’s daughter, Kate Pearson, on the show. “I am praying for your beautiful transition, Jas. May it be full of love, light and peace. Thank you for the time we shared, your fearlessness and inspiration."
"This news took my breath away. Jas was absolutely brilliant and had so many stories still to tell,” tweeted show creator Dan Fogelman. “She made an indelible mark on our show and my heart breaks for her loved ones. RIP @JasFly.”
