Woman Escapes After Man Uses Tinder To Lure Her Into Kidnapping

A California man is under arrest after trying to kidnap and sexually assault a woman he met on Tinder. Authorities said that Fabian Ornelas, 30, created a fake profile on the online dating app under the name "Dominick."

Ornelas made a match with a woman and arranged to meet her in person. Their meeting was cordial at first, but when the woman tried to leave, Ornelas refused to let her go. He then tried to rape her, but the woman fought back and managed to escape. She fled the area and called the police.

Authorities took Ornelas into custody and discovered leads that might link him to similar crimes when they searched his home.

Ornelas was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and attempted rape. He is being held at the Fresno County Jail on a $243,500 bond.
